  1. Posting late:

    Genesis 20:12:
"And yet indeed she is my sister; she is the daughter of my father, but not the daughter of my mother; and she became my wife. "

I did not realize Sarah was Abraham's half sister. How long I wonder was it before God spoke to Abimalech?

  2. Luke 11:40

Foolish ones! Did not He who made the outside make the inside also? -- Jesus comment on not washing. I wonder if I could use this excuse for my preschoolers. - "hey, God made the dirt too!".

    Woe:
    - to me when I make a big deal out of doing things just right, and forget to reach out to my neighbor (or my kids) with love.

    - to me when I rudely vie for the shorter line at the store.

    - to me when I make my kids do all sorts of tasks just to keep them busy -- tasks that I don't bother doing myself.

    Genesis 20:
Here is time number 2 that Abraham deliberately endangers his wife because of his own fear.

verse 17 - Abraham has to pray that God would open the wombs of Abimalech's wives and livestock again -- the very thing that he was waiting for God to do for His wife. I wonder if that made a strong impression on Abraham.
