We won't be seeing Transformers 2, sorry Shia

As much as I loved the first one, and love Shia Labeouf's work, I will NOT pay to support a movie of one Megan Fox:
When asked what she would say to Megatron to keep him from destroying the world (for the July issue Total Film UK):

“I’d barter with him ... and say instead of the entire planet, can you just take out all of the white trash, hillbilly, anti-gay, super
bible-beating people in Middle America?”

While I realize as a young actress she is probably trying to impress Hollywood with Hollywood type hate speech, she is saying this while promoting her new movie. While doing so, she has promoted the type of person she really is. I would have rather NOT gotten to know her better, but since I have, I'm able to make an educated decision on whether I will support someone who can say such vile things towards the MAJORITY of America.

Sarah Knoploh made a good point: "Although nobody asked her who she would like Megatron to obliterate, she volunteered it anyway... How tolerant". Maybe she forgot that middle America is who mainly pays her paychecks and makes or breaks a movie's success?

I can't speak for all of Middle America, but this middle American will NOT support such a person, sorry Shia and others. Raise your hand (comment) if you agree.

  1. Hi, this is TomLehner from Twitter, I have read your blogg and would like to tell you that as for me and my son I have decided to boycott this movie as well. I also will write a letter to the producing company and let them know that this is inapropriate. Thank you for supporting the boybcott of this movie and God bless you and your family.

  2. I too will be boycotting Transformers 2.

Not for the reasons you cite, but because someone's got to take a stand against Jerry Bruckheimer and his awful, awful movies.

But hey... solidarity is solidarity, right? :)

  3. I consider myself a moderate and an independent. I don't much like either political party, and wouldn't support either with my money or effort.

That being said, I found your post to be very eye opening. What Megan Fox said is hate, pure and simple. She has probably just absorbed the prevailing view in Hollywood and regurgitates it when asked a question to promote her movie. No matter the reason, though, I have no desire to pay for a movie when its lead actress spouts such bile. I'll boycott it, too.

I love America and being an American. I don't want any of its citizens obliterated, period. Ms. Fox's acting career, on the other hand . . .

Thank you for your thoughtful post.
