7Then on that day David delivered first this psalm to thank the LORD into the hand of Asaph and his brethren.
8Give thanks unto the LORD, call upon his name, make known his deeds among the people.
9Sing unto him, sing psalms unto him, talk ye of all his wondrous works.
10Glory ye in his holy name: let the heart of them rejoice that seek the LORD.
11Seek the LORD and his strength, seek his face continually.

Gratituesday 5-19
This week is really easy. This week, I am so incredibly grateful for a heavenly father that will never leave me or forsake me. This is one of His promises I cling to the most it seems. How about you?
Hebrews 13:5

Job 27:

398: Cool Verses, Acts- a fav story
Acts 11
18When they heard these things, they held their peace, and glorified God, saying, Then hath God also to the Gentiles granted repentance unto life.
Amen! Where would I be if He had not?
Below is one of my favorite NT stories, these Christians were so "busy" praying they were too busy to see God had answered their prayer:
Acts 12
12And when he had considered the thing, he came to the house of Mary the mother of John, whose surname was Mark; where many were gathered together praying.
13And as Peter knocked at the door of the gate, a damsel came to hearken, named Rhoda.
14And when she knew Peter's voice, she opened not the gate for gladness, but ran in, and told how Peter stood before the gate.
15And they said unto her, Thou art mad. But she constantly affirmed that it was even so. Then said they, It is his angel.
16But Peter continued knocking: and when they had opened the door, and saw him, they were astonished.

This sounds somewhat familiar, doesn't it? Someone gives a good speech and people say it's God?
21And upon a set day Herod, arrayed in royal apparel, sat upon his throne, and made an oration unto them.
22And the people gave a shout, saying, It is the voice of a god, and not of a man.
23And immediately the angel of the Lord smote him, because he gave not God the glory: and he was eaten of worms, and gave up the ghost.
24But the word of God grew and multiplied.

Is your heart right with God?
Acts 8
21Thou hast neither part nor lot in this matter: for thy heart is not right in the sight of God.
22Repent therefore of this thy wickedness, and pray God, if perhaps the thought of thine heart may be forgiven thee.
23For I perceive that thou art in the gall of bitterness, and in the bond of iniquity.
Of course most of us are not practicing witchcraft asking an apostle for the power of God upon us, we do, as Christians, want the power of God upon us and in our lives and ministries.
How often do we truly examine ourselves to make sure we are right with God? How much do we shuffle things under the carpet to be dealt with "later", only to be letting the root of bitterness take hold in our hearts, and we not even realize it because we are so "busy" with other things? Why do we spend months looking forward to our home church's "revivals", when we can have revival- daily?
Are we fooling ourselves when we act as if everything is well with our soul, when in all actuality, we have problems in our own lives that we are trying to bear the burden for alone, when we should be confessing our faults and weaknesses to our sisters (or brothers, if you're a man) so they may lift us up to the Lord and intercede for us? Is that prideful to not ask for help / prayer? Is it prideful to not ask for prayer / help?
James 5:16
Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.
1 John 1:9
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
Hebrews 3:13
But exhort one another daily, while it is called To day; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin.

6By mercy and truth iniquity is purged: and by the fear of the LORD men depart from evil.
7When a man's ways please the LORD, he maketh even his enemies to be at peace with him.
9A man's heart deviseth his way: but the LORD directeth his steps.
13Righteous lips are the delight of kings; and they love him that speaketh right.
16How much better is it to get wisdom than gold! and to get understanding rather to be chosen than silver!

"Cursed be he ..."
This would fall under "cool verses" but I thought it deserved a separate post because, well, how interesting are these verses? All of this basically covered plain, good ol' morality, ya know?
(I also have to say I'm relieved to find a verse that addresses brothers and sisters not marrying. For some reason Hannah is wanting "proof" the bible says she cannot marry Jackson, LOL not that I think she actually wants to, but she's found something to question I guess!)

18That they teach you not to do after all their abominations, which they have done unto their gods; so should ye sin against the LORD your God.

14The backslider in heart shall be filled with his own ways: and a good man shall be satisfied from {above} himself.
15The simple {naive} believeth every word: but the prudent man looketh well {considers carefully} to his going.
16A wise man feareth, and departeth from evil: but the fool rageth, and is {self} confident.
17He that is soon angry {quick tempered} dealeth foolishly: and a man of wicked devices is hated.

Cool verses 4-10
I thought this was an interesting cross reference for the passage in Galations about the ones who creep in unawares-
Deuteronomy 13
3Thou shalt not hearken unto the words of that prophet, or that dreamer of dreams: for the LORD your God proveth you, to know whether ye love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul.
4Ye shall walk after the LORD your God, and fear him, and keep his commandments, and obey his voice, and ye shall serve him, and cleave unto him.
5And that prophet, or that dreamer of dreams, shall be put to death; because he hath spoken to turn you away from the LORD your God, which brought you out of the land of Egypt, and redeemed you out of the house of bondage, to thrust thee out of the way which the LORD thy God commanded thee to walk in. So shalt thou put the evil away from the midst of thee.
6If thy brother, the son of thy mother, or thy son, or thy daughter, or the wife of thy bosom, or thy friend, which is as thine own soul, entice thee secretly, saying, Let us go and serve other gods, which thou hast not known, thou, nor thy fathers;
7Namely, of the gods of the people which are round about you, nigh unto thee, or far off from thee, from the one end of the earth even unto the other end of the earth;
8Thou shalt not consent unto him, nor hearken unto him; neither shall thine eye pity him, neither shalt thou spare, neither shalt thou conceal him:
I also like the emphasis of friends in this passage, as well. It shows even in the OT the Lord was cautioning us on who we should be allowing ourselves to be around, and even more important in who we allow our children to be influenced by. Do you agree?
Job 13
15Though he slay me, yet will I trust in him: but I will maintain mine own ways before him.
16He also shall be my salvation: for an hypocrite shall not come before him.
17Hear diligently my speech, and my declaration with your ears.
18Behold now, I have ordered my cause; I know that I shall be justified.
23How many are mine iniquities and sins? make me to know my transgression and my sin.
(Amen!!) I should have read this last year ...

4He becometh poor that dealeth with a slack hand: but the hand of the diligent maketh rich.
17He is in the way of life that keepeth instruction: but he that refuseth reproof erreth.
29The way of the LORD is strength to the upright: but destruction shall be to the workers of iniquity.
32The lips of the righteous know what is acceptable: but the mouth of the wicked speaketh frowardness.

Cool verses
Verses I read in my daily reading:
Ecclesiastes 9
15Now there was found in it a poor wise man, and he by his wisdom delivered the city; yet no man remembered that same poor man.
16Then said I, Wisdom is better than strength: nevertheless the poor man's wisdom is despised, and his words are not heard.
17The words of wise men are heard in quiet more than the cry of him that ruleth among fools.
18Wisdom is better than weapons of war: but one sinner destroyeth much good.
I thought about our government when I read these...
