Drinking and Driving, Tools Available

Last year at one of our church functions, there were state troopers there. At first I wondered how rowdy they thought this Baptist crowd was going to get, but it became quickly obvious they were there for "sport". The kids got to see inside the car, how things worked, and they had these goggles. The goggles, when you put them on, disoriented your vision as if you had been drinking. It gave you the feeling of what it was like to try and walk, drunk, without being intoxicated.

In Jackson County, a twitter friend of mine had the opportunity to try the goggles out, and he filmed himself trying to "walk the line". I remember when I tried to- it wasn't any more successful than his walk!

At the end of the video you can learn about more resources available to bring awareness about drinking and driving in North Carolina.
